Work your Working Memory with Executive Function Coaching

Working memory is also referred to as short term memory. It involves our ability to hold about 7 items in mind for anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes.

Because everyone's brain is unique, our working memory capacity varies.

Executive Function Coaching can train you to improve your working memory. Some of the ways we build this muscle are with rehearsal, mnemonic devices, loci, chunking, and visual imagery.

Keeping important information in mind is essential for success as a student. Here are just a few examples:

  • We need to remember the directions when we are working on an assignment.

  • We need to remember the prompt when developing an essay.

  • We need to remember what we are hearing in a lecture or film while we are taking notes.

Thanks for reading and reach out for more information about how to improve working memory!
