Many senior students aim to submit their college applications by Nov 1. Many also take one last attempt at the ACT or SAT around this time. I'm so proud of my students who have been working so diligently throughout these last few months.
The process of writing college essays is so wonderful for me to be a part of because it's both challenging and rewarding. It is the most important essay these kids have ever written in most cases, yet it can be a fun exploration at the same time. As I walk students through the brainstorming and revision process, they learn a lot about who they are today and what experiences have shaped them.
It's an honor to work with the students at this stage - they are mature and ambitious and are on the precipice of a momentous transition.
